Rhashean Anderson is believed to have fired at a 22-year-old male on Camp Town Road around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery. During the initial interview with the victim and witnesses, police learned a white Dodge Charger with two male occupants drove by the victim, who was standing outside, and began shooting at him.

The vehicle and suspects fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. Anderson was identified as a person of interest and he surrendered to police that night, they said.

Anderson admitted to shooting the victim during a drug deal, the sheriff's office said. He was cooperative with detectives during the interview and subsequently charged with aggravated malicious wounding. Anderson has been held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on no bond.
